Loss of Common Sense

Someone sent this to us in an email and it seemed to fit the way our society is moving.

An Obituary printed in the London Times – Interesting and sadly rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
– Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
– Why the early bird gets the worm;
– Life isn’t always fair;
– and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was
preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I’m A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

How to have two scandals BEFORE you are sworn into office.

Hm.. Imagine that. More corruption from the Obama camp. Why does anyone think he’s going to bring change? It’s the same corruption and kick-backs that have plagued government since the Clintons made it accepted policy. Here, Obama is not even in office and he’s already got 2 scandals on his hands; the taxes guy and this. It would be hilarious to me if his stupid decisions didn’t affect my security, well being and all round affect it will have on my life.

Is it 2012 yet?

Fixing the System

Washington, D.C., has become the political cess pool of America!

We’ve all known that many, if not most, of our Congress people are greedy, self-serving people.  And, because they have such low personal morality, they are willing to let any kind of riff raff serve in any capacity.  Take, for example, the nominee for Secretary of the Treasury who admits that he, inadvertently (so he says), FORGOT to pay social security taxes on money earned while he was at the IMF.  Now, if any one of us taxpayers had done the same thing, we would be tarred and feathered, and most likely in jail.  Remember Leona Helmsley who had a vast hotel empire, and whose tax “forms” would have been mountains and mountains of paperwork?  She was convicted of tax evasion , despite everyone acknowledging that she did not have  the financial training to check her taxes.  She claimed to have signed her tax forms without reading through them, just like almost any business person does.  But, her “embarrassment”  didn’t carry any weight in the courts and she served jail time.

Now, we have a nominee for the Treasury who couldn’t even get his own taxes right!  Shouldn’t he have questioned whether all his taxes were paid?  And shouldn’t the Senate consider his mistake serious enough to exclude him from serving in the Treasury?  Oh, I forgot.  Apparently, he is given a pass by the Senate because “he was obviously embarrassed”!!!!

What?   What are our representatives  thinking?  They are supposed to root out unworthy nominees.  They should tell President elect Obama ,  “No.  This man is not qualified for the position because of his past errors!”   Unfortunately, even Senator Hatch was making excuses for this man — a man  who was obviously incapable of  managing even his own, personal  taxes.  If he can’t take care of his own affairs, how could he possibly be capable of running a governmental agency ?

When our system of checks and balances no longer checks and balances, our entire system is likely to suffer.  We need good, upright, and MORAL people to run our government.  We need the Congress to do their job of certifying candidates for public service.   Or, are we supposed to excuse every mistake and every misdeed because the perpetrator is “embarrassed”.  Maybe we have to excuse those who are “sorry”, too. ….or, how about “misinformed” candidates?

In Washington, politicians are excused for all the problems in their past;  but, if Obama wants to fix the system, he needs nominees who themselves are examples of good, clean living.  So far, his nominees include the notorious Senator Clinton, the defrocked Daschle, and now this rotten apple.

Obama had it right during his campaign when he said that the system  needs fixing.   Unfortunately, with yet another morally-challenged nominee, it doesn’t look as though Obama is going to fix anything!  He has become a true Washington, D.C., insider!

Never ending corruption……

Or, maybe the title should be “you gets what you pay for!”.

After all, President elect Obama promised change for America, but then he brought in all the old, corrupt, Democratic  leadership from years past.  Some of “you” asked for him, and you got him!  Unfortunately, now we all have to live under his learning curve and mistakes!

Take his nomination of Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State.  Well, that pleased many of the Lieberals who, for some weird reason, believe she is “their” leader.  But, in choosing her, and others with similarly corrupt histories (can you say Daschle and Richardson?), Obama exonerates her and others from all their past misdeeds.

Hopefully, the nomination process will reveal many of Hillary’s past activities which, in anyone else except a Kennedy, would be criminal.  Online sources reveal that Hillary made many inappropriate requests for help from those who later donated to her husband’s charities.  Maybe this is not quite as blatant as taking the silverware when you leave the White House, but its deviousness alone should be a warning to not confirm her.

After all, pretty is as pretty does.  If she was corrupt in the past, odds are she will be corrupt in the future.  I’m afraid, with Obama’s submission to the old Establishment of the Democratic party, his presidency  will see never ending corruption.

Obama Means Change… Riiight

Read This!

Obama means change. Change, as in what he says and what he does. His whole campaign was against the multi-million dollar companies. He’s not even into office and he’s already picked someone who is FOR the multi-million dollar industry, and not for the ”little” man as he claims.

It’s not just Obama, and it’s not JUST the LIEberals who do this. BUT, it’s much, much more prevalent on their side. Obama is still weeks away from inauguration and he’s already in flip-flop mode. The promises he made sound all good and cheery and even I would like to see some of the things he said come true, but it’s downright impossible. Just mathematically speaking his policies make no sense. Reduce taxes and increase services will let the economy grow. Ok, that almost works. He ran as a pro-tech guy having speeches on YouTube and other web tools, but when it’s time to make a decision he falls right back to whatever devious plan he has, not to what he says. Had this been Bush who said one thing and did another, the media and all the lib-tards would be up in arms over what he says and does.

Obama has bamboozled the American people into voting for him, because he seems like a shining light, a glimmer of hope, change. How has he changed anything? He’s right back to lying and deceitful tactics that the LIEberals claim the Bush administration had. If you claim the Bush administration said one thing and did another, then you should be up in arms about Obama too. Change only happens when an honest, decent American gets elected President. Change better happen in 2012.

Democrats steal more votes!

Oh, wait.  That isn’t a headline.  It is a fait accompli in Minnesota where the Franken team appears to have found enough votes to finally put him ahead of Senator Coleman.

How can you find votes?  Well, you double count the absentee ballots until you have the number you want — whether it means that more ballots than voters came out of a voting place or not!  You make sure that even formerly ineligible ballots are now counted, and, of course, counted YOUR way.  Then, you get the powers-that-be, who happen to be Democrats, to rule your way on every issue.

Vote tampering is a Federal crime…unless, that is, that you are a Democrat.  Then, anything goes.  In Minnesota as in Illinois as in New York, you can count on being elected (or appointed) if  you are a Democrat.  The others might just as well save their money because, by hook or by crook, the Democrats are determined to win.  It is a shame that the Democratic victories are mostly “by crook”, or crooks, but that is how it is in today’s world!

So, lead on Al.  Why should you be any different than other Democrats?   From loss to victory, from voting booth to voting booth, from almost 800 behind to over 200 ahead…..that is the Al Franken legacy for Minnesota.

No news is good news……….

At least, for the Israeli army, they have decided to conduct this battle as a military exercise, not just another news event!   But, as usual, the media think they are entitled to be part of everything, including  military action, whether it helps or hurts the process.  So, today, the media  are lamenting their exclusion and lambasting the Israelis for refusing to allow news coverage of the current battles in Gaza.  I say, “hurrah” for the Israeli army who are  conducting themselves as a military unit and not as babysitters for those who would pad their resumes with the conflict!

I never believed that news reporters had any business in war zones for many reasons.  After all,   soldiers are hired to fight, not to act as bodyguards for reporters .  The presence of reporters means that soldiers have to look out for the reporters rather than  themselves or other soldiers.  And, if one soldier suffers just because some media outlet thinks they have a “right” to be in a war zone, then that is one soldier too many.

I mean.  What is the advantage of reporters being right at the scene of conflict?  Does it help create Peace?  It would be difficult for even the most Lieberal Democrat to prove that news reporting advances any kind of Peace. To the contrary, the media has become a cess pool of Lieberal agendas and, too often, that agenda drives the reporting, rather than the truth!  It is no surprise that the Israelis, who have been savaged in the past by the media, have decided to exclude foreign journalists!  I am glad that the Israelis finally have the strength of will to fight not only the continuous bombing of southern Israel by the Palestinians, but also the political courage to tell others to just “butt out”.  I am glad that this conflict will be conducted by military professionals and not the “experts” in the media!

Yes, Israeli is right to protect their soldiers by excluding news reporters.  In this case, no news is good news for everyone but the reporters!

The joke’s on us!

Immediately after the last election, Norm Coleman was ahead by almost 800 votes.  But, somehow, the joker (Franken) managed to “find” enough votes so that now he claims to be 49 votes ahead of Senator Coleman!  It is another case of how the Democrats will do everything and anything to win.

Everyone knows that in most card games,  the jokers are thrown out of the deck.  And that’s what should have happened with Franken.  But, no.  In these Lieberal times, no one is bothered by so many votes being discovered, especially if those votes appear to have been cast for the Democrat.  So, now we face the unpleasant prospect of a candidate who truly stole an election being seated in our august Senate.  Is it any wonder that this fiasco is happening when the Democratic governor in Illinois is willing to sell a Senate seat?  Few of us voters are surprised any more by these immoral activities.  Unfortunately,  everyone also knows that the Democratic partyhas become the party of illusion and collusion.

Let’s get real!  Where in America can you get a job if you are unqualified?  In real life, that doesn’t happen.  But, politicians are a whole different kettle of catfish!  If you can’t get a real job and work an honest day’s pay, don’t worry.  You, too, can be a politician!

After all, if you truly consider the Minnesota Senate race,  giving Franken the Senate seat would be like giving Caroline  Kennedy  a Senate seat from New York?  After all, neither she nor he have any experience in government and neither is qualified for a Senate seat.  Oh, wait.  Neither was the Democratic Presidential candidate, but that didn’t stop the Democrats from putting him into office.

Politics has truly become the last refuge of crooks, illegal antics, and downright criminal behaviour.  And, with the Democrats running the show, it isn’t likely to end any time soon.

For those of us who expected our government to truly and honestly represent us, it is no longer funny.  Unfortunately,  the joke’s on us!
