Lies, lies, and more lies..

It always astounds me that Democrats can lie so convincingly about the Ryan budget plan.  Whether you agree with all its tenets, there is nothing in the plan that would send Grandma over the cliff, as a recent Democrat ad details, nor will Seniors of today suffer any consequences from this plan.  Yet, Democrats continue to lie about the proposal and the media continues to play along.

What will it take for those who purport to be journalists to actually report the FACTS and NOT the lies from Democrats who are using the fear factor for political gain?

Well, until journalism becomes the Profession that it used to be, or until voters study the actual budget, you can expect more of the same from the Democrats and President Obama and his minions because it serves their nefarious purpose.  To our detriment, this is what to expect:

Lies, lies, and more lies………

White is white, black is black?

http://www.essence.com/relationships/commentary_3/commentary_jill_scott_talks_interracial.php

At least, that’s what this authoress seems to be saying!  She winced when she discovered that a guy who was african american was married to a caucasian woman.

Why?  What’s  wrong with black and white, rather than white and white or black and black?  Everyone knows that our country has always been a  melting pot and you have to expect that eventually, we will have gray areas…i.e., marriages of different ethnic groups.  But, so what?

It seems as though minorities always want to whine about all the bad things that happened to their ancestors, as if they were the only ones who have suffered.  Then, they use that ancient pain to identify themselves and insist that they deserve special benefits when, in actuality,  they wouldn’t recognize those same ancestors if they passed them on the street! Besides,  how does something that happened 100 years ago really impact you?  In most cases, these past problems are just an excuse to justify some financial or social demand.

So, I saythis is another example of a person gaming the system.  It is too bad that this lady felt a sting when she heard of an interracial marriage, but that should be HER problem, not ours.  I say that such marriages are a good example of America’s acceptance of all ethnic groups and it is making our country stronger.  We don’t want people to only marry people like themselves.  We want people to meet, and fall in love with those who are their soul mates…whether that mate is the same color, age, or any other criteria.

After all, almost everything in life is better with  a touch of this and a dab of that.  Marriages are the same.  And, so is our country.

Heigh ho, the witch is dead…..

Well,  the warlock, Osama bin Ladin,  is dead.  But,his death is not the end of the terrorists’ war.  There are going to be many repercussions before Americans are truly safe.  And,as always happens, one of those non-lethal  repercussions will be a vigorous attempt to claim credit for the success of the mission.

Some already are crediting President Obama for the courage to sign off on the mission.  And, while it might have been difficult for him because he would have suffered political losses if the mission had failed, it was NOT courage on his part.

The people who were truly courageous are those who risked their lives to bring Osama bin Ladin to justice.  Those heroes are all who supported the mission,  but especially the Navy seals.  They are the ones who trained, penetrated the compound, and put themselves in harm’s way.  And, since we will never know who these heroes are, they did it all for love of God and America.

For all of us who are safer now because of them, thank you.

Lie, Cheat and Steal…

http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/04/20/white-house-floating-proposal-curb-contract-campaign-cash

Many claim that President Obama is brilliant and that is why he is president today.

I disagree.  What he is is an opportunist who is willing to bend or break whatever law he needs to in order to keep himself alive politically.  Witness the latest attempt by Obama to suppress Corporate donations by demanding to know where corporate donations are going.  What proves his bias is that he doesn’t seem interested in applying the same rules to the Unions.

We shouldn’t be surprised at Obama’s latest antics.  After all, he’s the one who refuses to provide his birth certificate.  He’s the one who has decided to ignore a law he signed that bans certain czars.  He uses the EPA to run circles around Congress’ bills.  He’s willing to bow to every foreign leader, and yet he insults and slurs fellow Americans.

It’s shameful that the President who has sworn to uphold the Constitution considers himself above the law and is willing to lie, cheat and steal just to stay in office.  But, we should be used to it by now.

Liberals will Huff and Puff….

But, as you’ll see, the Brookfield votes were actually reported on election night by a liberal newspaper reporter!  Here is the true story of how Justice Prosser was re-elected.

Wisconsin Democrats would like to convince voters that the clerk’s error in reporting results for Waukesha county from the judicial election on April 5, 2011, was   “Election Fraud!”.

Of course, the vote count that Democrats, and the media, touted was a PRELIMINARY count- – and that is why we have a statewide canvass before we certify a vote count.

Of course, Democrats huffed and puffed  “foul” over and over, hoping to overturn what appears to be a victory for Justice Prosser.

However, while it might be convenient for liberals and Democrats, it is untrue to say that these votes were “found” or “discovered” after the vote tally, as though these votes are somehow not genuine.

In fact, a Huffington reporter actually wrote about these votes on election night.  If you would like to see the truth, here are the sites:

http://mediatrackers.org/2011/04/no-conspiracy-brookfield-vote-totals-posted-on-election-night/

http://freedomeden.blogspot.com/2011/04/milwaukee-county-canvass-and-recount.html

Here’s the truth of the matter:

No Conspiracy: Brookfield Vote Totals Posted On Election Night

Conspiracy theorists are in full force with a Democratic congresswoman even asking the United States Attorney General to investigate the Waukesha County election returns that gave the Supreme Court race to David Prosser, but they might want to call up Arianna Huffington first. That’s because Patch, a new media site in Brookfield that Huffington oversees, reported the Brookfield election returns to the public… on election night.

And they were the same returns the city is reporting now that Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus has finally added Brookfield into the countywide returns. That means there’s no big conspiracy – Nickolaus just didn’t pass the returns on to the state and Associated Press on election night as she should have done. No returns or votes “materialized” – they were reported on election night by a site overseen by one of the most prominent liberals in the country.

The AP distributed the overall county tally to the rest of the news media for inclusion in state totals on election night.

However, the Brookfield clerk has stated that she reported the returns to Nickolaus, who didn’t save them on her computer.

The Brookfield clerk ALSO reported the returns on election night to the reporter for Brookfield Patch, the new online news site run by AOL, and ultimately overseen by liberal pundit Arianna Huffington. Patch ran a story shortly after midnight that night reporting that Prosser had commanded a sweeping margin in Brookfield.

The reporter who authored the story is Brookfield Patch editor, Lisa Sink, a former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter. She reported on the returns in a story dated April 6th (two full days before Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus told the media and state officials that she had forgotten to include the Brookfield returns in the overall county tally).

Sink wrote:

“As expected, Brookfield city voters ran up a good turnout in the state Supreme Court race and gave incumbent Justice David Prosser nearly 11,000 votes.
Unofficial, unaudited results showed 76 percent of city residents who voted picked Prosser, with 24 percent voting for challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg.
That translated to a city voting turnout of about 53 percent, the city’s second-highest for a spring election since 2001, but nowhere near the 79 percent turnout for the gubernatorial race last November.”
The story was headlined: Brookfield Gives Prosser Nearly 11K Votes: Incumbent State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser gets 10,859 votes from city residents or 76 percent against JoAnne Kloppenburg. (Note: The City of Brookfield website currently reports the same exact numbers.)
The Patch story also included a ward-by-ward breakdown of the Brookfield election returns that included the final tally for the city for both candidates.
In the comment thread under the story, reporter Sink noted a few days later: “I posted this article and chart at 12:24 a.m. on election night, using data handed to me from the City of Brookfield clerk’s office, not from Waukesha County. Lots of confusion about this. This came straight from the city ON election night. These are the results County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus said today that she failed to properly save and include in the countywide total she released to AP on election night.”
Arianna Huffington is Sink’s ultimate boss. Huffington moved over to head a Media Group at AOL this spring after AOL bought out her liberal political website, the Huffington Post.  The move has Huffington overseeing the hyper-local Patch news sites that the company launched around the country. This year Patch launched multiple news sites in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, hiring an editor away from Journal Communications to oversee them. Most of the sites are managed by former newspaper journalists and are meant to be objective news sites.
The Hollywood Reporter quotes Huffington as saying the following of Patch:
“… Patch will be key to political coverage, including next year’s elections.  We’re launching over 30 new patches in primary states,’ including two new ones in New York.”   Each Patch consists of a professional journalist and contributors.
Ironically, the wildly liberal Huffington Post updated its own story on the Waukesha election returns after receiving the information about the Brookfield Patch story.
The original Huffington Post story was updated to note: “UPDATE: 11:20 p.m. — Perhaps the most convincing evidence so far that human error explains the initial omission of Brookfield’s results comes from our colleagues at the Brookfield Patch. On election night, they reported a vote total for Brookfield that exactly matches the vote total Nickolaus did not include in the County level count until Thursday.”
In other words, even the extremely liberal Huffington Post can’t bring itself to join the conspiracy brigades. Not when its own news site had the returns from the start.

Wisconsin………..

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/08/dems-foul-vote-change-gives-lead-wisconsin-supreme-court-justice/

What some Democrat partisans see as a scandal…………

another Democrat, and a high-ranking Democrat, believes  is fair:

Ramona Kitzinger, the vice chair of Waukesha County Democratic party who observed the canvass, said she is satisfied the numbers are now correct.

There is NO scandal in this Wisconsin election, unless you want to believe that the initial results reported by the media were correct and have now been tampered with.  There is NO evidence that any tampering occurred!  In Wisconsin, there is ALWAYS a post-election canvass of the vote to make sure that it was an accurate count.  Just because the vote totals now reflect that Prosser won is not grounds for all the insulting and accusatory labels being heaped on Waukesha’s clerk.

If you “counted” on the initial count of votes, you were relying on preliminary numbers which, in this case, didn’t hold up.  There is nothing sinister here.

But, the unions and Democrats WANT there to be a scandal because they figure they can yell, scream and holler their policies into Wisconsin law once they convince the media that something underhanded occurred.   This from a party whose state senators fled the state rather than act like mature representatives of their state.

Wisconsin.  We love our state.  But, sometimes, we wonder why those who DON’T EVEN LIVE HERE are trying to tell us what to do!   Here’s our message for out-of-state unions — GO HOME.  If you have any bright ideas, use them to make your own state better.

Because, Wisconsin voted last November and we told our legislators THEN what we wanted NOW to help our FUTURE!

One Voice

The elections last November were the voice of the voter. And, in most races, the voters voted for conservative candidates who espoused fiscal responsibility, especially a severe reduction in government spending.

Once the elected officials were sworn into their office, those new governors, senators and assemblymen — both state and national — began carrying out what has always been referred to as “the people’s business”. Unfortunately, somewhere, somehow, someone decided that they were unhappy with the new legislation. Wisconsin is the most public example of a mob run amuck because, even though the MAJORITY OF VOTERS VOTED FOR THESE CHANGES, a minority decided to shout, scream and clog the corridors of Wisconsin’s capitol so that the legislative agenda could not go forward. This was not Freedom of speech, but abuse of that right. Just as you can’t scream “fire” in a theatre, you shouldn’t be able to intimidate the families of elected officials nor to threaten the same officials. And, these riots were definitely intimidating! As I watched the anti-Wisconsin budget protesters on tv, their hostility and animosity toward an alternate viewpoint was apparent….in some cases, their violence would have made me afraid to be near them.

I don’t know if these people realize how unruly and unDemocratic their actions are. Do they understand that they are agitating for benefits that the rest of us don’t have and that the rest of us have to pay for? Why should they get a special deal on anything? Aren’t we all equal under the Constitution.

Well, unfortunately, once a government begins doling out tax dollars to select groups, there is NO DEMOCRACY. There is only “them and us”.

And, that’s not the way the Constitution formed the country. Each of us was to have the same protections and freedoms. Nowhere in the Constitution does an administration have the right to pick and choose exemptions from a “universal” health bill nor was a corporate CEO (GE) to be appointed to a position of responsibility while that same company pays NO corporate taxes.

There is a tv ad which shows children getting different benefits from a company and the tag line is “Even a kid knows this isn’t fair.” That’s how this ridiculous debate over Wisconsin’s budget would appear, even to a child. While Life is never completely fair, we should at least strive to make our government operate fairly and without bias for anyone.

After all, while we are a multiplicity of diverse individuals, we should still be united in adhering to the guarantees in our Constitution. Following those principles is what makes us Americans. We should be acting for the public good, not the good of unions or any other interest group.

So, let’s stop the intimidating yelling by special interest groups. The voters have voted and want their voice heard. If everyone truly is equal, then, we will be able to speak even louder, but with one Voice.

Democracy or Mob Rule?

America used to be ruled by the majority.  Every kid in school knew that majority rule was the basis of all democracy.  And, if you didn’t like what the majority wanted, you worked to convince a majority that YOUR views were better!

Unfortunately, our America has succumbed to political correctness and mob rule to the point where the majority no longer rules.  The old standard of  disagreeing agreeably is gone.  In today’s vitriolic society, it turns out that the majority, who voted overwhelmingly for conservatives in our last elections, are being over-ruled by union  mobs who shout, kick and scream, hurling profanities, and all because taxpayers finally see that government unions are only in the mix for the MONEY.  As one striking lady whined, “This will cost ME $3,000 more each year.”  Well, that is good news to me because it means I will be taxed $3,000 less.  And, after all, that is MY money, not hers!

Any objective observer would say that the union thugs and lackeys are acting like spoiled brats.  In Wisconsin, 14 senators — all Democrats — fled the state so that Democracy could NOT operate in our state capitol.  They didn’t like what the majority wanted.  So, they up and left!  What kind of state senator does that instead of staying and arguing his case?  What’s worse is that these same absent senators then said that Governor Walker refuses to negotiate.  What they mean is that Governor Walker won’t cave in to their demands.  So, they bring in MORE union protestors, mostly from out-of-state. Adding insult to injury, these shills  clog the state capitol and create so much debris that one estimate for the cleanup is $7 MILLION dollars.  And, guess who pays for that?  The taxpayer pays, as usual.

In Ohio, unions came out in force, braying and whining at Governor Kasich’s proposals, attempting to overwhelm the constitutionally elected legislature and Governor with sheer numbers.  If it weren’t so serious, the claim that 25,000 people are protesting would be laughable.  After all, Ohio had 11,542,645 residents in 2009.  And, Wisconsin, where the media hyped the “thousands” of protestors, the state population was 5,654,774.

The protestors are a small drop in either state’s total population.  And, if you consider that a good percentage of those protestors were NOT natives to the state, their numbers become even less important.  They are ABSOLUTELY NOT A MAJORITY OF STATE VOTERS IN EITHER CASE AND, like all the rest of us voters,  SHOULD BE REGISTERING THEIR OPINIONS IN THE VOTING BOOTH, NOT THE STREETS NOR THE OFFICIAL BUILDINGS OF OUR STATES.

We see mobs killing each other in the streets of Libya and much of the Arab world.  Is that the kind of America we want?  Do we want people who disagree with the majority to be able to stop our governmental processes just by hauling in ringers to clog our streets and government buildings?  I don’t think so.  If we want to remain a Democracy, WE MUST MAINTAIN majority rule.  Those in the minority are going to have to learn to accept things they don’t agree with.  It’s just the way a Democracy operates.

We should recognize that mob rule is only effective when the rules of decency and majority rule are pushed aside.  That is what the unions hope to do.  They want to scare, intimidate, and frighten Wisconsin’s people into agreeing with the unions’ outrageous  demands.  Don’t let anyone tell you that the unions are only doing it “for the children”.  They are agitating to fill their own pockets and empty yours!

So, the question is whether Democracy or mob rule will prevail.  And, it’s unlikely that we’ll know whether Democracy’s trademark, the rule of the majority, will endure until the hypocrites — i.e., the governmental unions, leave the street.

Democracy…..on hold…..

First there was campaigning for public office.  Candidates explained their positions on a variety of subjects, including the budget.

Next, there was an election.  Republicans won a majority of the offices.

Now, Governor Walker has followed through and proposed the budget he discussed during the campaign.

But, State Senate Democrats didn’t like the election results nor the proposed budget.  So, did they argue their views in the State Senate?  No, just like spoiled brats, they have decided they can’t win the vote on the budget and have left the state to stall a vote and, in effect, stall Democracy.  Shame on them.

The problem is that, for years,  unions have used their political muscle to elect Democrats and the Democrats are afraid to lose all that cash! If you ask an ordinary worker, most of us would say that governmental union workers are getting too sweet of a deal and that they are NOT entitled to these extensive benefits at OUR expense.  These benefits are NOT RIGHTS.  They are NOT EVEN  ENTITLEMENTS!  They are gifts from legislators attempting to repay unions for the union support — i.e., cash donations.  And,those outrageous benefits have to stop because, Christmas is OVER and  even Santa Claus has bills to pay!

After all, in a Democracy, we are supposed to be equal.  When unions and their bought legislators have more say than a legitimately elected governor and legislature, then there is no Democracy.  Until those Democrat senators return and do their job, we all suffer because Democracy is on hold.

Truth and Consequences

It’s true that some Wisconsin teachers skipped school to protest Governor Walker’s budget proposal.

It’s true that Wisconsin teachers are under contract to TEACH.

It’s true that some Wisconsin teachers got fake sick slips from roaming bands of doctors.

It’s true that Wisconsin teachers are willing to lie to their employers – i.e., us the taxpayers.

It’s true that the cost to districts when Wisconsin teachers played hooky  ran into the millions – which Wisconsin does NOT have!

Isn’t it also true that there should be consequences?

Wisconsin School District Docks Pay of Teachers Who Skipped School to Attend Protests…

AP

Written by Bill Schanen IV

The Port Washington-Saukville School District will dock the pay of 82 teachers who skipped school last Thursday to protest Gov. Scott Walker’s budget bill in Madison, Supt. Michael Weber said Tuesday.

The absences, which left the district without about 43% of its teachers, essentially crippled the school system. Administrators were forced to close the high school 1-1/2 hours after students arrived because there weren’t enough teachers to staff classrooms.

Other schools remained opened, but principals scrambled to find enough substitute teachers to supervise the more than 800 students at the middle school. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Thursday had to be cancelled.

The teacher absences shocked school officials and parents, who said they thought the Port Washington-Saukville School District would be the last place to experience a mass exodus of teachers because of the remarkably good relationship between the district and union. The district was one of only a handful in this area of the state forced to cancel classes because of teacher absences.
