Foolishness…

President Obama reportedly gave one of his first foreign interviews to an Arab network.  Of course, the Saudis, Iranians, and other muslim nations are ecstatic.  The wedge is now firmly driven between Israel and the United States, thanks to one, foolish interview given by our President.

Obama seems to forget that Israel is a democracy and most of the Arab nations are not.

Obama seems to forget that Israel is eager to help us destroy the terrorists and most of the Arab nations are not.

Obama seems to forget that Israel is one of our strongest allies in the Middle East and most of the Arab nations are not!

President Obama has forgotten the threat of a nuclear Iran and ignored the beleaguered status of Israel.

All the efforts to contain terrorism which flourishes in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and yes, even Jordan, are all for naught.  Our current President is not only oblivious to reality in the Middle East, but also foolish to ignore an important ally like Israel merely to show his power.   It looks to me like Obama’s inexperience is showing.  And, most of what Obama does is simply foolishness!

Rushing Rush

From the “now I’ve heard everything” book:   President Obama tells Republican legislators to not listen to Rush Limbaugh so “they” can get things done!  Well, he means so that they will toe his and the Democrats’ line.

In a blatant demonstration of arrogance, Obama tried to demoralize the Republicans by implying that they are puppets of a talk show host .  And, with that rude comment, he also hoped to  marginalize Mr. Limbaugh.  It was an absurd way for a President to act, but if you have watched the Democrats, you understand that they believe they — and they alone — have the right to say or do anything!  This was just the latest example of that philosophy.

This “we’re right and you’re wrong” attitude comes from the Democrats being  “me” driven and is why  President Obama does not understand that Republicans are united by a philosphy of individualism, self reliance, and a high moral standard.   If the Republican legislators and Mr. Limbaugh have common hopes, ideals and beliefs, that should surprise no one.  And, if a Democratic President attempts to divide his “enemy”, as he sees conservatives, that should surprise no one either.

Maybe with the SuperBowl approaching, Obama thought a pass rush on Rush would confuse Republicans.  But all of us have now seen how the Democrats play the game and we’re more than willing to call penalties when we see them.  So, I give Obama 15 yards on a personal penalty for taunting.

After all, Mr. Limbaugh is a private citizen, not a foreign country or enemy combatant!   Surely Obama should be dealing with issues of state and not trying to destroy an individual!! So, while Obama won’t lose the ball because he is President, he showed the true colors of the Democrats  with that unsportsmanlike conduct!

World – Class – Arrogance

President Obama called a few Republicans into the White House to discuss the economic stimulus he says is needed.  Some have said that the American economy fuels the world economy and therefore, it is of paramount importance to cure America before the World falls ill.  However, it sounds like Obama has a different agenda.  Aparently, he wants 25% of the billions mentioned to be spent on items not approved, like contraceptives !  I don’t understand how limiting the number of babies born to Americans will stimulate the economy nor help the world.  It sounds as though Obama lives in his own, little World.

Then, he complains about how much money the wealthy have and how he means to steal that difference and give it to the poor.  That is class warfare.

Finally, even his aides admit that when questioned about a specific item in the stimulus plan, Obama said,  “I won”.  That is, I won and you will do as I say.  That is arrogance.

Add those up and you come up with a very clear and honest depiction of President Obama — World Class Arrogance.

A two-edged Sword

The headline in Drudge of ” That’s no way to treat a Kennedy ” is confusing.   Did someone insult the famous lady?  Did someone make accusations about her?  It’s difficult to tell, but it appears that the “horrible” thing done to Caroline is that the governor was NOT going to name her as the next Senator from New York.

To me, that sounds not only fair since she was totally unqualified, but also wise.  It is long past time where the Kennedy name should give automatic entrance to whatever they demand.  Yes, John F. Kennedy was once our President and yes, he was assasinated.  But, others have lost their father or mother, and no one is giving them a senate seat.

However, the true irony iof this accusation is  that some feel that Kennedy was treated poorly merely because she was rejected.  Well, how does that correspond to Pelosi saying that she “feels as though a 10# weight was lifted off me when President Bush left town.”  How does that compare to all the names that Senator Reid and Kennedy and Schurmer and all those vociferous Democrats called our last President?

Obviously, it doesn’t.  Democrats bemoan the loss of good manners in politics, but the loss is directly attributable to them!  If they don’t like something, they label it and then call it a name….honest discussion of disagreements is anathema to them.  They say that time heals all wounds, but I can hardly wait until  the public  tires of their bad manners and their own words  become the two-edged sword that cuts them out of public life.

Lindsay Graham, an Opportunist

Lindsay Graham was once a respected representative when he was one of the forces behind the impeachment of former President Clinton.  At the time, he railed against the immorality of Bill’s actions while in the White House.  Of course, more than immoral, Clinton’s sexual harassment of an employee was a Federal crime, but, hey, let’s ignore that!  Washington, D.C. did.

How the times change.  With the new administration installed, Lindsay now calls Bill’s wife, Senator Clinton, one of the most knowledgable and capable people to be Secretary of State.  Wow!  From accusations about her White Water dealings  that were derailed by political forces to suspicions of being involved in the death of Vince Foster to stealing silverware — another criminal act that was hidden “under the table” — now she is suddenly a hot commodity.  And, Lindsay is right there on her team.

Politics makes me sick.  Almost all of those in Washington, D.C., are not there to serve the American public, but to enhance their own prospects of fame and fortune.  Lindsay Graham is such a man.  I have lost all respect for this Senator Graham.  He is  one of the new, and many, opportunists in Washington, D.C.

The “uncivilizing” of America

My husband who is a CEO has always said that you can work with someone disagreeable and yet not be disagreeable yourself.  Too bad the Democrats never learned that lesson.  They have spent the last 8 years attacking former President Bush and, in the process, destroying the civility that held our  diverse opinions together.

Because it was politically correct, they criticized the Iraq war which they had helped fund and had voted for.  They criticized the response to 911 despite their eagerness to fight terrorism right after the disaster.  But, most of all, their verbal attacks on former President Bush set a new, rock-bottom standard for incivility.

Rather than honor the office of the President of the United States, they called names.  Rather than discuss issues where they disagreed with the President, they told lies to the Press who were just as eager to promote these lies.  In short, they spread as many negative comments as they could.  They were totally without principles and barbaric in their attacks!

Today’s inauguration of Obama, though, illustrated how completely undignified and how rude this “new” bunch can be.   Reportedly, some in the audience  cat-called at both VP Cheney and President Bush.  They made rude gestures, unsuited for such a dignified occassion.  In short, they lived up — or down — to their reputation.

The aftermath of this uncouthness will fall on Obama and it will be interesting to see how President Obama is treated.  If the opposition treats him as poorly as the Democrats treated President Bush, and all conservatives, America will stagnate.  There will be no compromise….no diplomacy….and no good will toward anyone or any issue.  Instead of moving forward, we will move backwards.

The legacy of the Democratic party is leading toward the uncivilizing of America!

Nuclear Iran

Credible sources say that, once again, Iran is attempting to buy weaponry-–this time from China — to build a nuclear warhead! Why is that news to anyone! After all, how long has Iran been shopping around in the world trying to buy weapons’ technology? First, Russia helped them and now they look to China.

The weirdest aspect of this news is that some will still pretend to be surprised at it! Democrats will probably have a moment of epiphany and try to say that they didn’t know how bad Iran actually was!   History shows us, though, that they have been facilitating Iran’s noncompliance for years with the lingo that “Iran won’t deal with Bush”. Or, another gem was, “Once we are in control, Iran will toe the line!” Or some tried diversionary tactics, such as the comment of, “Bush is fighting the war in the wrong place. Afghanistan is the real point of conflict!” They gave Iran ready-made excuses for not complying with any civilized nation’s requests and it is the Democrats who will be responsible if Iran becomes a nuclear menace.

The irony is that, as a theocracy, Iran promotes itself as a very religious country. Yet, they are among the worst offenders of human rights. We are a democracy and yet we strive to promote human rights throughout the world. Unfortunately, the Democrats have been so eager to win the White House, that they forgot who was the “good guy” in the world! Now,the future remains in their hands. The question is: “Will the next administration be able to handle Iran?”

Well, here’s their big chance.  Today, Iran does not yet have nuclear weapon capabilities.  After the Democrats take control, will Iran have nuclear weapons “tomorrow”?

Loss of Common Sense

Someone sent this to us in an email and it seemed to fit the way our society is moving.

An Obituary printed in the London Times – Interesting and sadly rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
– Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
– Why the early bird gets the worm;
– Life isn’t always fair;
– and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was
preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I’m A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Fixing the System

Washington, D.C., has become the political cess pool of America!

We’ve all known that many, if not most, of our Congress people are greedy, self-serving people.  And, because they have such low personal morality, they are willing to let any kind of riff raff serve in any capacity.  Take, for example, the nominee for Secretary of the Treasury who admits that he, inadvertently (so he says), FORGOT to pay social security taxes on money earned while he was at the IMF.  Now, if any one of us taxpayers had done the same thing, we would be tarred and feathered, and most likely in jail.  Remember Leona Helmsley who had a vast hotel empire, and whose tax “forms” would have been mountains and mountains of paperwork?  She was convicted of tax evasion , despite everyone acknowledging that she did not have  the financial training to check her taxes.  She claimed to have signed her tax forms without reading through them, just like almost any business person does.  But, her “embarrassment”  didn’t carry any weight in the courts and she served jail time.

Now, we have a nominee for the Treasury who couldn’t even get his own taxes right!  Shouldn’t he have questioned whether all his taxes were paid?  And shouldn’t the Senate consider his mistake serious enough to exclude him from serving in the Treasury?  Oh, I forgot.  Apparently, he is given a pass by the Senate because “he was obviously embarrassed”!!!!

What?   What are our representatives  thinking?  They are supposed to root out unworthy nominees.  They should tell President elect Obama ,  “No.  This man is not qualified for the position because of his past errors!”   Unfortunately, even Senator Hatch was making excuses for this man — a man  who was obviously incapable of  managing even his own, personal  taxes.  If he can’t take care of his own affairs, how could he possibly be capable of running a governmental agency ?

When our system of checks and balances no longer checks and balances, our entire system is likely to suffer.  We need good, upright, and MORAL people to run our government.  We need the Congress to do their job of certifying candidates for public service.   Or, are we supposed to excuse every mistake and every misdeed because the perpetrator is “embarrassed”.  Maybe we have to excuse those who are “sorry”, too. ….or, how about “misinformed” candidates?

In Washington, politicians are excused for all the problems in their past;  but, if Obama wants to fix the system, he needs nominees who themselves are examples of good, clean living.  So far, his nominees include the notorious Senator Clinton, the defrocked Daschle, and now this rotten apple.

Obama had it right during his campaign when he said that the system  needs fixing.   Unfortunately, with yet another morally-challenged nominee, it doesn’t look as though Obama is going to fix anything!  He has become a true Washington, D.C., insider!
