Politicians and Babies

Usually, babies and politicians mix quite well.  After all, who wouldn’t love a politician who loves (and usually kisses) every baby they meet?

The Democrats kiss as many babies as the Republicans, and you would think they love babies as much as anyone else….but, they are against babies in certain instances.  For example, Senator Obama feels no need to protect babies who survive an abortion!  It’s above his pay grade, he says.  And, most of the hierarchy in the Democratic party dismiss any baby not yet born as expendable.  After all, it’s a choice for the mother to make whether the baby gets to vote or not!

In the case of Governor Palin’s daughter who is expecting a baby, the Democrats again are using a baby as a politically useful tool, rather than as a human being.  Rather than congratulate the parents and grandparents, they hope to use the pregnancy to further their own agenda.  How sick.

It is a paradox that Democrats proclaim their love for humanity and yet are willing to arbitrarily kill the most vulnerable of human beings!  They fight vigorously to save a death-row inmate and yet don’t care when a baby is carved out of the womb.  So, when you see a politician kissing babies, just remember that only Republicans believe that EVERY baby is kissable and deserves a chance at the American dream. 

If the Democrats succeed to the White House, all babies in the womb are at risk because Democrats do not protect those up and coming citizens.  For the unborn, Democrats are the kiss of death!

CNN just doesn’t get it!

The big story on CNN tonight was not the RNC convention but  that Senator McCain refused an interview with Larry King after a reporter, Campbell, closely questioned Sarah Palin’s credentials.  The reporters pretended to not understand the backlash from the McCain camp.

The problem is not that Governor Palin’s credentials were being questioned.  As head of the Alaskan National Guard, she has as much experience as any other governor, including the Democrats’ favorite, President Clinton, had when he ran for President!  She certainly has more executive experience than either Obama or Biden. 

No, the problem was that these same questions were NEVER ASKED of Senator Obama who is the head of the Democratic ticket! 

If CNN wants to be truly apolitical, why don’t they challenge Obama’s credentials?  Why?  Because they know that, after serving a mere 182 days in the Senate (and who knows if he made all those sessions),  he has NO QUALIFICATIONS to be President.

CNN just doesn’t get it!

Do any of you remember the Reagan ad about “some say there is a bear in the woods” ?  Well, the Russian bear was tamed by Reagan, but there are other, more vicious, animals prowling our world today…especially in the land of politics. 

You see their teeth when someone criticises Senator Obama.  If he can’t formulate a logical response to the criticism, one of his surrogates immediately jumps on the critic with cries of  “racist” .  Or, if that fails, there are threats of legal prosecution.  This is what happened to Mr. Kurtz who has studied Obama’s relationship with Mr. Ayers, a man who advocated terroristic tactics to change U.S. governmental policies during the VietNam war.  But, that association doesn’t fit the image that Obama and the Democrats want the American public to see, so they are threatening WGN, a radio station that wanted to hear what Mr. Kurtz has to say.

Maybe you didn’t think that the big, bad Wolf– in the guise of a “new” politician –has teeth, but he is baring them now.  And, if we don’t protest, he will keep on intimidating anyone who disagrees with him.  Oh, yes, the wolves began circling their prey when the University with Mr. Obama’s “records” shut their files to the public.  And, now, the wolves have begun howling at WGN, a Chicago station where Mr. Kurtz is to speak. 

Better bar your door and keep quiet about Mr. Obama because, if you say anything he doesn’t like, he will huff and puff and blow your house down.  That is the new law of the jungle, or as they say in Washington, politics!

Same old, same old

Senator Obama promised change from the “old” politics, then he chose Senator Biden for VP!  

Senator Biden is an established Washington veteran. His character is questionable, too, because he has had problems with his comments about Native Americans and even Obama himself.  And, remember, Biden is the guy who plagarized the good parts of speeches by others without giving them credit.

So, where is the new image that Obama promised?  Hmmm.  Sounds to me like Senator Obama is more Washington, D.C., than like us.  Same old, same old.

Does the truth matter to Senator Obama?

Pro Life groups are saying that Senator Obama, while an Illinois representative,  voted NOT to save the poor babies who survive an abortion.   His reply is that the ProLife groups are lying and that he would have voted for the measure if it duplicated the Federal law which later passed the US Senate by a 98-0 margin!

Unfortunately for Mr. Obama, Illinois public records show that he chaired the Illinois committee which endorsed duplicating the Federal law.  But, when that very bill came to a vote, he voted against it. He said, at that time, that passing such a bill would be a ban of abortion “rights”.  And, he bragged that he had worked closely with Abortion groups, especially  Planned Parenthood,  to fight the measure. 

So, Senator Obama is faced, yet again, with his unsavory past which shows his complete disinterest in protecting our most vulnerable citizens,  innocent babies who survive an abortion.  And, once again, because it serves his purposes now, he attempted to rewrite his own voting record.  Does the truth matter to Senator Obama?

Me, Myself and I

No, this is not a post about Senator Obama and his inflated ego, although I can see why you might think it is!  It is about his policies , though.  But, mostly, this is about me, myself and I because I own stock in America’s oil companies.  And, most likely,  this is about you and your future income because one way or the other, the success of America’s oil companies has a huge impact on you, your family, and your living standard.

Senator Obama wants to tax American oil companies because they are earning too much money!  He doesn’t seem to realize that in America, earning money, even lots of it, is not a sin.  He fails to realize  that many Americans have their personal income and their pensions invested in the oil companies, whether through personal stock or mutual funds.  He fails to understand that a thriving oil industry provides jobs and necessary energy that keep our country and economy running well.

It is a simplistic notion that, if you need money for the federal government, you raise taxes and  corporations are an easy target.  However, if you tax the oil companies and they earn less, guess what happens to your dividend?  Guess what happens to your pension if dividends go down?  Guess what happens to industry jobs and the price of fuel?   Even a grade schooler realizes that if a company pays too many taxes, and doesn’t thrive, many other people suffer.  The only ones who don’t “get” this concept are Obama and the Democratic party.

So, if you want your dividends to keep coming, do NOT vote for Senator Obama.

If you want your pension to keep growing and be available when you retire, do NOT vote for Senator Obama and his high taxing ways.

If you want industry jobs to continue, do NOT vote for Senator Obama.

Americans are the most generous people and nation in the world.  But, maybe a little consideration of what is good for “me, myself and I” would be a valuable exercise for all of us.  And, what is good for us is a strong, dynamic oil industry which provides income for us as individuals and also is a valuable asset in our pension planning.

Have you noticed how Senator Obama’s speeches are carried, live, on almost every channel?  And, that the same channels do not carry Senator McCain’s speeches or public appearances?  Why is that?

It must be because Obama is constantly changing positions on issues and the press is trying to keep up with his new policy statements.  With McCain, you know where he stands on issues and WHY he espouses any given policy.

Either that, or it is the liberal bias of almost all the media who hope to sway the election from a genuinely experienced candidate, Senator McCain, to that of their personal favorite, Senator Obama.

Favre 4 Ever

Politics is not limited to Washington or the national scene.  Politics, after all, is the attempt to get something for yourself or those who support you whether it is the best choice or not.  And, right now, petty politics is rife in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Everyone knows that the Packers are being foolish in not welcoming back the best player that the Packers organization has probably ever known.  We all want to know why?  Why are the Packers spending so much time, money and effort to keep the best player OFF the team?

It can’t be because they question whether he can play because it was only a few months ago that Favre played at a championship level.  And, seeing Favre coaching kids in his hometown shows him to be buff and ready to go.

It can’t be based on the expense because Mr. Murphy just flew down in a private jet to offer $20 million to Favre to NOT play!!!

No.  The general consensus among us Packer fans is that both Ted Thompson and Coach McCarthy are not only arrogant and obstinate, but that they are stupid!  And the directors and Mr. Murphy should be drawn and quartered for going to such lengths to support TT’s and McCarthy’s egos and bad decisions.

This is not a question of whether Rodgers is ready to play.  This is a question of whether the egos of the general manager and coach are more important than giving the team the chance to win football games.  If the Packers want the best chance of winning games this year, bring back Favre!!

Obama- a smooth operator

If you had a serious medical condition, whom would you ask for help?  Would it be a plumber, a mechanic, a grocery clerk?  While you might discuss your problems with them, you would seek definitive help from an expert, wouldn’t you?

In almost every circumstance, the best advice comes from experts in that field.  That is why courts give credence to experts and their educated opinion.  That is why you call a certified plumber if you have a leaky pipe, or an auto mechanic for the knocks in your car.

However, I have yet to see any field or endeavor where Senator Obama is recognized as an authority.  Why?  He simply is too young to have had enough time to become an expert.  He has tried community relations for a few years.  He has tried being a Senator for a few months.  And, suddenly, he believes he is ready to be President of the United States!!!

He might consider himself ready, and he is definitely a smooth operator.  But,  most of us prefer someone tried and true, like Senator McCain.

Senator Obama is planning to visit the Mid-East as a means of showing he has enough expertise in International Affairs to be President. This will be his first trip in a donkey’s age –how fitting for a Democrat!– and also as a part of a Congressional expedition.

This certainly serves him well. He will claim to understand the Mid-East, after a whirlwind tour. And, he will have the taxpayers pay for the trip because he is going as “our” representative.

Whoa!

First, many of us would love to have taxpayers pay for our trips, too! And, to have it count toward Presidential aspirations has to be the penultimate power play.

Secondly, what makes anyone believe that such a trip will suddenly make Senator Obama an expert? True expertise can only come through long experience, such as Senator McCain has learned through the years.

It’s ironic that Democrats believe that one trip will make the Democratic nominee an expert on foreign affairs. After all, how many Americans have visited other states or countries? Few of us would then claim to be experts on those areas.

The basic problem with the Democrats’ nominee is that he is too young and too inexperienced to be President of the United States. His most obvious asset is his voice. Like Charleton Heston or James Earl Jones, he can “play” President very well. But, “talk” is cheap. The real question remains –is he qualified?

Based solely on the fact that he is ONLY a first term senator and one who has served minimal time in that job, he is obviously not qualified to handle the reins of the largest, most influential country in the world. Although the Democrats will trumnpet this Mid-East trip as filling in the blanks for their nominee, he will Not be the new and improved Senator Obama! He remains the old, liberal, inexperienced orator who wants to be President!
