Agility and mobility

China is gearing up for the Olympic games and so are many athletes. For athletes, agility and mobility are considered good skills to have. However, in Washington. D.C., they can be detrimental to the public good because agility and mobility are what makes a “good” politician!

Consider Senator Obama and his pseudo-attempts to squash the story about his relationship and ties to his now “defrocked” and debunked minister.

Obama has tried to repudiate the minister without actually insulting the man. After all, the minister can deliver many votes in Chicago, an essential city to winning Illinois. It is highly unlikely that Obama did not accept the minister’s help in first being elected and everyone knows that Obama still counts on the minister’s support for the Presidential election. It is only as some of these stories leak that Obama has begun to feel the pressure and the need to repudiate people he previously has called mentors.

So, Obama must find some method of still accepting the minister’s help and, at the same time, distance himself from the man’s un-American attitude. Here are some sample justifications. Well, he didn’t personally hear those remarks. This after being a member of the church for 20 years. Well, he did get married there, and his children were baptized there, but he didn’t hear those remarks. Well, he did attend the church fairly regularly, but he didn’t hear those remarks.

These explanations are so labored that even the true believers should begin to quetion Obama’s past and what he actually believes. But, that is even more unlikely than Obama’s rationalizations. His supporters will stick with him better than rosin on a gymnast’s hands. Obama’s routine has suffered a “misstep”, but, with the help of Democrats, he has been quick to recover his balance. He is more like the floor gymnasts who twist and twirl their way across the mat and then back again with each step carefully choreographed and placed for maximum effect than he is to the honest, upright man I previously believed him to be.

So, hurrah for anyone who can get a straight answer out of Obama. His political agility and mobility will probably move him right into the White House. But, some of us former fans do not intend to let his false starts go unnoticed. It’s a marathon to the White House and some of us are hoping to keep him out of the “pack”.

Let the games begin!

Foul Ball

The Drudge is reporting that the FBI is opening an investigation into whether Clemens lied to Congress. How ridiculous. How does pursuing this help the American public? It doesn’t. So, why do it? Congress should consider the following:

1 – Grandstanding on this issue rather than attending to the myriad of other, vital U.S. interests that should be under Congress’ consideration is detrimental to American security.

2 – It sounds very much like a “he said vs. he said” deal where the truth will probably never be uncovered.

3 – Mr. Clemens should be considered innocent unless someone proves his guilt. Right now, Congress and even the FBI are acting as though Mr. Clemens needs to prove his innocence.

4 – The charge of lying is an extension of Congress grilling Mr. Clemens and has nothing to do with the original charge of using steroids! If a REAL court cannot prove that Mr. Clemens used steroids, then all charges and proceedings should be dropped. Congress should not have the authority to override the duties of the judicial branch of government.

5 – During the hearing, Mr. Clemens’ lawyers were not allowed to speak for him as is the case in a judicial setting. Why is Congress allowed to subvert the right to be defended by competent counsel? That is not the American justice system at work, but a bunch of phonies trying to set a famous person up for a fall…all to add to their own luster.

Congress doesn’t seem to understand the rule of fair play. To the Democrats in Congress, Mr. Clemens’ “case” is nothing more than a chance to grandstand with the hopes of hitting a home run. I think Congress should learn to play ball by the rules and I don’t mean political rules! Otherwise, the American public should rule that “they’re out” !!!!

What goes around…….

Senator Clinton claims that the media is harder on her than on Senator Obama who is the new media darling.

I agree with her. Her mistakes are magnified and his are minimized. And, it probably hurts to have former allies turn on you, but maybe, just maybe, this is the price she will pay for having enjoyed the same bias from the same press in the past.

Many ordinary citizens like me wondered if the Clintons would ever pay for their criminal behaviour of selling political favors and pardons while in the White House, sexual harassment of an employee in the White House, and trying to make off with silverware, etc., when they left office. President Clinton was always the Teflon president. No matter what he did, the Democratic party was right beside him, excusing, pardoning, and cheering him on. His bad judgment in foreign policies caused us to “lose” Osama bin Ladin and might have been the direct cause of 9/11. But, the media refused to mention that, or any other errors he made in office.

So, now, Obama is enjoying the blindness of that same media. He is a better person than Bill or Hillary ever were, but, still, his past has mistakes, too, which could be revealed. But, oh, no. He is the new Teflon man!

Well, Hillary, as the saying goes, it hurts to be you. You deserve to suffer from the same politically motivated media that used to revere you.

After all, what goes around, comes around!

Voting "Right"

Voting is one of the most important duties of an American citizen. And, this year, every vote matters even more because the candidates hold such vastly different positions on many issues. Generally, Senator McCain is either centrist or toward the right of most issues while Senators Clinton or Obama are “left” — behind in their opinions.

If you are proud to be an American, vote McCain.
If you are grateful to our troops, vote McCain.
If you want to support our troops, vote McCain.
If you believe we need a strong commander in chief, vote McCain.
If you believe a Presidency starts on day 1, vote McCain.
If you want a strong economy that doesn’t depend upon class warfare, vote McCain.
If you believe everyone should work together for our country’s welfare, vote McCain.
If you understand that someone who has suffered for America will understand the suffering of others, vote McCain.

If you don’t believe in the ideas above, vote for one of those other two candidates. They will:

Give away America’s vital decisions to others.
Depend upon world concensus for policy decisions.
Have to learn on the job about the military that defends us.
Promote the welfare of one class of Americans at the expense of another.

Vote “Right”. Vote McCain!

Senator Schurmer’s specious argument about the tax rebate!

Senator Schurmer is advocating that EVERYONE receive a tax rebate, whether they pay income taxes or not. His argument is that even those who do not pay income taxes, pay social security taxes (FICA) and thus, are also entitled to be part of those receiving a rebate.

However, those who only pay into social security will receive their “share” of that money when they retire and start drawing on social security. They do NOT deserve to receive a portion of the income tax WHICH THEY DO NOT PAY.

Secondly, if Senator Schurmer truly feels that even those who only pay social security taxes deserve some help, why doesn’t he present a bill that would obligate EVEN THE CONGRESS to use the same social security system as the rest of us? Then, at least our children might have a realistic chance of actually receiving social security when they retire.

New York seems to thrive on electing senators with long arms when handing out someone else’s hard earned money and alligator arms when it comes to their own.

Oversight or intent?

Today, Hillary Clinton apparently won the Nevada caucus. The headline on Yahoo, in large letters — with a picture of her, read that Hillary has momentum now and Obama needs help.

Today, Gov. Romney apparently won the Republican, Nevada vote. His victory is a little blue line of type beneath her smiling visage. There is no picture of him, no mention of his momentum, nor the fact that HIS opponents might need help to beat him.

Oversight……or intent?

What a surprise!

Last night’s vote in Michigan had several surprises for pundits.

First, Governor Romney won a decisive victory…not because people cared about his religion; but, because Michigan is worried about the economy. And, the best candidate is obviously one with successful business experience.

Secondly, the pundits questioned whether McCain’s credentials for commander in chief would carry him past Romney’s skills in business. To the pundit’s surprise, McCain did not win the day. How could the economy trump the fight against terrorism in any voter’s mind?

The answer is actually pretty obvious. None of the pundits, who are mainly liberals, give President Bush and the military credit for making our country and the world safer from terrorism!

However, President Bush’s success can be directly measured by the issues voters are concerned with in this election cycle. If the issue is safety from terrorism, then this administration has not been as successful as hoped. But, if the main issues continue to be economic, or racial, or almost anything else, then it is time for the media to recognize President Bush’s achievements.

Don’t be fooled that no one has congratulated our Commander-in-Chief. The media doesn’t talk about this because they prefer to sensationalize the problems. That makes better copy for them.

What a surprise!

Tears of shame

The woman who never cried when her husband humiliated her in front of the entire world has now cried publicly. Why? Oh, it must be that the poor dear is overworked in this campaign, and the big, bad boys are ganging up on her!

Believe that and she’ll tell you more.

I find it incomprehensible that yet again, the Clintons have made buffoons of the American public, albeit only in New Hampshire this time. Do democrats never learn? President Bill was not only responsible for eviscerating the military and the CIA (which they later blamed for intelligence failures), but he managed to turn the Oval Office into a brothel. Hillary, by standing by, enabled Bill to continue his narcissistic ways.

So, if Bill is an adulterer, what does that make Hillary? There are multitudinous sources who claim that Hillary is an overbearing, unfeeling, dictatorial person; but, now, 3 tears have somehow turned her into a human being! And, anyone in the media or public who see through this farce find themselves described as unfeeling and insensitive people.

Time and again, the democrats have proven they have no shame. They want a President of their party and are willing to promote even such depraved people as the Clintons, IF IT MEANS A VICTORY IN NOVEMBER! But, by supporting Hillary who comes with Bill’s legacy of criminal behaviour, they have proven to be a party with values inconsistent with American ideals.

The overriding question is how much the American public will believe and accept.

We have seen that the Clintons have no shame when it comes to getting what they want. They will cheat (Bill’s area of expertise), lie (Whitewater, Vince Foster’s suicide, travelgate) and steal (White House articles they took when they were “dethroned”). And, if it took Hillary’s tears to turn a debacle into a victory, why then, that is what she will do….and did!

Hillary and Bill are simply the absolute worst politicians today, in terms of their goals, values, and past actions. They have only their own, personal glory in mind as they campaign. When they cry, do not look for tears of shame. The tears of shame will be come later from the American public if Hillary is elected and continues her husband’s (and her) Reign of Shame.

Ann Coulter

If Democrats had any brains, they’d be Republicans, a book by Ann Coulter, was just given to me. And, whether it is politically correct or not, it is a fascinating book.

There have been many complaints about Ann’s comments on anything liberal. The phrase “she has gone too far this time….” is a common reply when asked about her and her ideas.

However, her ideas are fundamentally conservative and accurate. It is true that liberals routinely complain about discrimination being hurtful and even anti-American yet endorse the murder of countless babies merely because they are in the womb. It is true that the NY Times’ editorial page almost always shows its hate fetish when the subject is President Bush. It is true that democrats pretend to like minorities, but really are just using minorities as a source of votes. The hypocricy of liberals is unquantifiable because it is so astronomically huge. And, the democrats resent that Ms Coulter has pointed out the failings in their arguments time and time again.

I believe that the only justifiable critique of Ms Coulter’s comments might be the way in which they are expressed. Her sarcastic, sometimes outrageous slant on current issues can raise the hackles on even the calmest beast. But, fundamentally, she is correct on her political commentary and, although you might find her humorous comments distasteful, no one with any common sense can honestly disagree with her basic points.

Hate crimes and discrimination

The penalty for hate crimes is based on the motivation for the crime rather than on the crime itself. A murderer is “more” guilty of murder, if he killed someone because they are black, white, or oriental than if he had killed that same person for another reason. The penalty is greater because some mistakenly believe that a stronger punishment is going to stop ethnically related crimes.

This is hogwash and blatant discrimination. The first problem is that no one absolutely knows what motivates another person to commit a crime. To say that a crime is a hate crime just because two different ethnic groups are involved is tantamount to reading minds…an impossibility for most juries.

Secondly, why should the murder of one person because of ethnicity be considered worse than the murder of another because of envy or greed, or any other motive? If your loved one is murdered, nothing will bring that person back…..not even if the murderer or murderess is sentenced to a longer time in prison. One man’s life should not be worth more than another’s.

Thirdly, such punishments are nothing more than politicians fawning at the feet of one minority or another. How many times do you read the papers and find that an African American has murdered a white person and will be punished more severely because the murderer commited the crime because the victim was white? It virtually never happens that way. Almost always it is a white person accused of a hate crime against a person of a different racial background.

So, let’s be honest with each other. All of us have to work toward harmony so the United States can continue to be the world’s melting pot. But, hate crimes are a divisive element because they create a special category for some people. And, if some people’s lives are worth more than others, there is disharmony, not union.

Politicians must stop creating special groups of people, even if they are victims, just to demonstrate how much they empathize with a given minority. For once, let’s try to promote the concept that we are all created equal and anyone who injures one of us, injures us all. A murderer is a murderer is a murderer, regardless of who the victim is!
