Me, me, me, me, me

Here in Wisconsin we have a big brew-haw-haw going on regarding the unions. I only want to touch on a part of those unions, the teachers. I never was the biggest fan of teachers due to their insanely good medical coverage, the fact they get weekends and holidays off… oh and that 3 month break in the summer is nice too. Wish my dad could have taken 3 months off every summer, a week at Christmas too. But I let bygones be bygones until I started working in a school. Teachers are some of the most selfish people I came to know. It’s never about what’s best for the students, it’s whats best for them. Oh sure, they’ll say it’s about the students but when the going gets tough teachers bitch and whine like a three year old in K-Mart. The administration is no better. The superintendent always makes it a point to say how important the students are, and that they are the #1 priority. Yet when something goes down on the network or if they couldn’t access their files, they bitch and cried until they are fixed first. Hey, shouldn’t the students be the first ones to fix?

With that aside, my focus of this post is on the teachers and their incessant bitching about the possibility of paying their pensions, paying for medical costs or whatever they are going to have to pay. EVERYONE else in the damn working world pays for those things. Why do they get handouts? They already get everything else handed to them, maybe it’s about time they pony up and pay. I know, I know, it’s like pulling the treat away from your dog at the last second. I mean, they already had that money given to them so you can’t give it to them and take it back, can you? Sure you can. They do it in other industries, why do they think they are so special? They think that only because people have been kissing their collective asses for too many years. Time for them to man up and get in the real world and out of their la-la land existence.

Which leads me to my last point -> Unions breed mediocrity. When your pay is not matched with how good of a teacher/worker you are, then why is there any need to go above and beyond. Being part of the union says one thing, you are not special. You could be the best teacher in the world, and yet you get paid less than that horrible teacher down the hall who’s been there longer than you. Just ass-backwards.

Send in the Clowns

In a never-ending circus of attempts to promote governmental control over every aspect of our lives, ironically,  Democrats are reneging on what might have been the only bi-partisan bill to come out of Congress this year — the jobs bill.

I have no complaint with them deciding against such a bill because I believe that, if they truly want more jobs, all they have to do is cut governmental regulation and taxes.  The natural talents and creativeness of Americans will do the rest.  Anyone who has ever used or bought a Popeil product, like the Buttoneer, knows that inventors will invent something to fill every single need, even a need that you might not know about!  Jobs flow from creativity;  but, creativity is stifled by heavy-handed rules and regulations from government.  Anyone who has attempted to open a small business and faced the permits, fees, and  tax structure for small business can see the challenge.

However, if Congress is working on a jobs bill.  Let it be a jobs bill and not a “who gets what” bill.  Already I see that the black caucus is promoting a jobs program that discriminates against non-blacks… that is, a jobs bill that gives something to someone merely because they are BLACK.  That discriminatory aspect is common to legislation, but should be stopped.  Employers should hire the best person for the job, even if that person doesn’t fit some governmental formula for ethnicity!

But, Congress has never been known to use common sense.  They buy future votes with our tax dollars, then bemoan the Federal deficit, as though the deficit popped out of the hat of a circus magician.  It’s obvious that the days of promising away our tax dollars has come and gone and there are no more rabbits for Congress  to pull out of a hat to save our financial health.

So, what’s to follow the three ring circus, known as Congress?  We know taxes will go up.  We know unemployment will go up.  We know our future financial well-being will go down.

Everyone knows our economy is dying, thanks to Congress’ lack of judgment and their continued zeal for spending our tax dollars.  What we need in Congress are people who know what REAL work involves….like your circus performers or your plumbers or your police or fire department.  What we need are REAL people who do REAL jobs.

What we need are good, hard-working legislators, not the buffoons we have now.  Congress doesn’t seem to know how to fix our economy, nor unemployment nor our national security, so their act is a failure.  Maybe the only solution now is to follow the circus. When an act goes bad in the circus, they send in the clowns to cover the mistakes.  So “send in the clowns….no, wait….they’re here”!

Big Brother–our Congress and President

A commentator today explained why the Democrats are pushing forward with health care legislation, despite overwhelming disapproval by the American public.  Even in Massachusetts, a liberal state by anyone’s definition, 51-60% are adamantly against the Democrats’ proposals.

The legislation is so distasteful, expensive, costly, and ineffective, that even Democrats like Ben Nelson demanded a break from the onerous provisions of the bill.  He got it for his vote.  Mary Landrieu, too, was devious enough to sell her vote with 300 million reasons to vote in favor of the bill.  And, the other Senators undoubtedly got behind-the-scene benefits, too. And, then, the unions got their piece of the action by not having to pay the Cadillac tax on health premiums like the rest of us will have to.

The reason these Democrats are willing to sell their vote is not because they believe in the legislation’s benefits.  No, they are selling their vote to gain an advantage for their constituents so that these same constituents re-elect them.  How crass.  How corrupt.

And, why are they willing to risk the public’s wrath?  Today’s commentator says that Democrats understand that the American public does NOT want this health care legislation to pass.  But, guess what?  The Democrats think that the public can be talked into accepting the government running health care WHEN THE ENTITLEMENTS START.  As Juan Williams commented today,  “People love entitlements!”

Sure.  Everyone wants a free ride.  But, for some of us, we are tired of being the donkey carrying the entire load.  Let Big Brother, i.e., Obama, the Congress, and other free-loaders, step away from their plush jobs, enter the workforce like the rest of us, and, at least give the pretense of paying their own way.

28th Amendment

Many of us are upset with Congress’ trying to ram through health legislation, and other issues like Cap and Trade, that we DO NOT WANT!  However, I received an email with a solution to Congress’ arrogance.  If Congress had to follow the same rules and laws that we did, they wouldn’t be so keen to pass overbearing and over-reaching legislation.  So, here’s the answer!

Presenting: The 28th Amendment

“When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”  ~ Thomas Jefferson

Amendment 28
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,
and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or
Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the
United States .

Any representative that won’t support this amendment should not get elected….PERIOD!!!

Health Scare

The Democrats’ committe voted FOR the Baucus health care bill, despite not a single Republican supporting it.

Well, that’s to be expected.

However, now the process moves behind closed doors and I want to know why?  This is not a matter of personnel which does warrant confidential discussions.  This is about the American taxpayers’ right to know what, how, when, and why a legislative committee — supposedly elected to REPRESENT US, NOT COERCE US — is deciding on a major, reformative bill.

The public has shown its antipathy for this type of reform many times.  The latest study shows that, if you have a good health care plan, expect to pay at least another $4,000 per year for it!

So, why, oh why, are the Democrats still trying to force this into law?  It is because they know that, once passed, it is almost impossible to repeal.  And, they are so arrogant that they believe they know better than we do about every issue.  Plus, a lot of their buddies are going to make money on this scheme.  We know that the government will be hiring many more employees to manage this travesty of a law.

This all began with President Obama’s talk of health care problems.  Surveys show that about 70-80% of Americans are satisfied with their present health care system.  But, as a control freak, Obama is determined to turn health care into a governmental program that he can  control.

From czars to Congress, Obama’s goal is to have a dictatorship wherein he chooses all options for everyone.  This is not really about health care.  It is using health scare tactics to destroy our dem0cracy.

Overhauling health-care system tops agenda at annual meeting of Canada’s doctors
By Jennifer Graham (CP) – 1 day ago

SASKATOON — The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country’s health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country – who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting – recognize that changes must be made.

“We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,” Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

AND THEY WANT TO GIVE US THE SAME, INEFFICIENT, USELESS SYSTEM?  LET CONGRESS TRY IT OUT ON THEMSELVES AND THEIR OWN FAMILIES FIRST!

Hillary — her inexperience showing in Europe

http://www.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUSTRE5253XS20090306?sp=true

Oh, what the heck.  We know the President is inexperienced and needs a teleprompter to answer questions.  Now, it turns out that his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton,  is also showing her inexperience in Europe.  Well, they make a good team of misfits!

Christmas Wishes

Christmas is definitely over! The presents are gone. The wrapping paper is burned. And, the cookies have once again managed to shrink my clothes a size or two.

But, I wonder if Christmas changed the World? Did Peace on Earth happen? Did people truly reflect on the season, or was it just a mad rush to tear into presents?

In our household, we felt a great deal of satisfaction because our entire family was home at one point or another. Almost all of the presents were gratefully received and enjoyed. There were just enough cookies to last through Christmas Day and more than enough games to entertain the whole weekend.

In our state, Wisconsin, Christmas did not bring a conclusion to the problems of gaming contracts, or the scandal of the state election board divesting one candidate of much needed moneys just before the election. In our country, controversy continues concerning the war on terrorism. Countless accusations by those who initially voted for the war on terrorism have hamstrung the process of defending America. Even though I feel safer now than during the 9/11 violence thanks to President Bush’s leadership, the loss of conservatives in Congress guts the war on terror. The war has become a political issue now, and all bets of victory are off.

So, even though we personally feel good about our family in the near future, we are very concerned about our country’s prospects. We hope that the Congress will concentrate on keeping America safe and not just jockey for position for the next election. We hope that the radical Islamists will fail, especially the Iranian nuclear fanatics, and that Israel will continue to man the ramparts in the Middle East. We hope that Russia, China and South Korea will understand that they are the ones who will most suffer if North Korea continues on its nuclear path. We hope that the UN’s new leadership will be an ethical one and correct the problems generated by Kofi Annan and his group of power-hungry misfits.

So, as we approach 2007…….Good Luck and Joy to the World …………….we hope.

Wisconsin Votes Yes

Wisconsin voted Yes on the homosexual vote. I’ve heard many complaints and I’ll debunk them one by one. What’s sad, is these are not made up by me, but rather some that I’ve seen in various places.

1. Only reason the amendment passed was because of idiots from the ho-dunk towns not knowing what to vote for. -> Ok, Doyle was elected. So with the 60% or more, I forget the figure, voting Yes, that means that alot of people voted for Doyle and for the amendment. Lots of idiots voting for your guy.

2. Wisconsin is a bunch of bigots. -> This one was a little funny. If the amendment had said to kill all gays and lesbians, then yes, that could possibly be bigotry. But this was NOT attacking people, but rather protecting marriage. Until these libs can seperate the people from the issue, they’ll never understand that you can not be a bigot and still be against things like gay marriage, and not be a racist, but be against Affirmative Action or Illegal Immigration.

3. I’m moving out of Wisconsin because the people are so stupid. Haha, this one took the cake though. If Wisconsin was the only one who voted yes, then I could see why gay people would move, but MANY other states also voted yes. It’s not like Wisconsin is one in a bunch, but rather we are in the bunch.

Majority rules libs. And don’t pull the stupid phrase, well the majority are bigots then. I would like to see a libs response as to why I cannot marry my first cousin? I’m not saying I would, that’s just disgusting. How do they have a response for this? They don’t. They can’t say it’s gross, cause I’m not too happy with gay people having sex. They can’t say it’s not two people in love, because concievably they could be.

I’d just like an honest answer form liberals/democrats at somepoint. They only argue issues that they think they can gain support for.

Hopefully the Republicans will make a push in ’08. Republicans have to get back to their damn roots. Here are my few things republicans have to work on.
1. Get back to your damn roots. Keep government small and make sure the people know this. Many people who were polled in exit polling thought it was libs who wanted small government.
2. Be against Illegal Immigration 100%. Illegals are criminals. Put up a border, a LEGIT border.
3. Be strong with National Defense. Hey, Iraq didn’t go as well as we thought, but push forward the point Saddam is going to be hung for killing hundreds of thousands of people. That should outrage anyone, and it took Bush to finally do something about it.
4. Stop being little pussies. Don’t stick up for William Jefferson and other people like that. The democrats don’t do that for you, so don’t do it for them. I don’t care if it is the right thing to do. You aren’t going to win by sticking up for them. Tear down Harry Reid. He lied. He broke the law. Yet you guys pussy-footed around and didn’t do a damn thing. That should of been on top of your list trying to tear down the democrats. Tear down John Kerry. What he said was horrible, and he should be held accountable.
5. Get candidates out there who will win. I don’t like John McCain that much, but I’d rather see him in the Senate than someone like John Kerry.
6. Rally for ’08. Get a real contender for the presidency. Don’t pick some no-name from Indiana. The democrats have people who’ve been in the spotlight for over 10 years, Kerry and Hillary most noteably, and people don’t vote for people who they don’t know.
