The epitome of arrogance….

So, now Pelosia is using the old Clinton dodge of “what is the meaning of ‘is’ ?”.  Remember when he hung his defense upon “the meaning of ‘is’?” .   His obfuscation of his testimony was only the beginning for Democrats.  Now, Pelosi is reaching out to redefine bi-partisanship for her own, political advancement….and, that of President Obama.

So, with the “new” definition of bi-partisanship,  Democrats claim they do not need Republican votes to make the reconciliation be bi-partisan.  After all, Pelosi claims that conservatives had their chance……….to talk!  Of course, Democrats didn’t accept anything that the conservatives were talking about, but, hey, they had “their chance”.  Thus, the bill becomes bi-partisan without the need for anything except Democrats’ votes.

Pelosi: GOP has had its day; confident Dems can come together

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Republicans have left their mark on the healthcare bill and should accept that the bill will go forward.

“They’ve had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning. “Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint.”

Pelosi is probably the most arrogant member of Congress.  She calls tea-baggers, Americans who happen to disagree with her, “astroturf”.  She tells her fellow Democrats that they should put their re-election aside and vote for this bill.  (What would happen if HER job were at stake?)  And, now, she is busy creating new definitions for words that don’t suit her!

This is why Congress’ approval is down to about 10%!  This is why American citizens, not only tea-baggers, are angry and demanding to be heard. This is Congress at its worst –the epitome of arrogance.

Obama vs. Bush

This was a forwarded email. (I’ve removed images to keep it short and sweet.)

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Tony Blair a set of inexpensive and useless (to Tony Blair’s UK video formatting) DVDs, when Tony Blair had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive?

Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. He’s done all this in 10 weeks — so you’ll have three years and nine-and-a-half months to come up with an answer.

What happened to Bill Gates?

It’s always good for the world when philanthropists help charities or other people out.  But, on occasion, these philanthropists  become so strident in their viewpoint that they become a caricature of what charity should be.    Sometimes, people like Bill Gates are downright ridiculous.

Here is an example of arrogance cloaked in generosity:

Bill Gates Unleashes Swarm of Mosquitoes on Crowd

Feb. 4: Bill Gates opens a jar of mosquitoes at TED2009.

Microsoft founder turned philanthropist Bill Gates released a glass full of mosquitoes at an elite technology conference to make a point about the deadly disease malaria.

“Malaria is spread by mosquitoes,” Gates said while opening a jar onstage at the Technology, Entertainment, Design Conference — a gathering known to attract technology kings, politicians, and Hollywood stars.

“I brought some. Here I’ll let them roam around. There is no reason only poor people should be infected.”

First reported on social networking site Twitter, Facebook’s Senior Platform Manager Dave Morin blogged, “Bill Gates just released mosquitos into the audience at TED.”

Gates then waited a minute or so before assuring the audience the freed insects were malaria-free.

The unusual presentation on malaria prevention was confirmed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s media office. A spokesman said the insects released were not carrying malaria.

Gates retired as head of Microsoft last year to focus more on his foundation. One of its key projects is ending malaria and it has spent millions on fighting the disease.

The philanthropist has been pushing to reduce malaria deaths through the nonprofit. In September, Gates announced that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation would provide $168.7 million to the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative to help develop a vaccine for the deadly disease.

World – Class – Arrogance

President Obama called a few Republicans into the White House to discuss the economic stimulus he says is needed.  Some have said that the American economy fuels the world economy and therefore, it is of paramount importance to cure America before the World falls ill.  However, it sounds like Obama has a different agenda.  Aparently, he wants 25% of the billions mentioned to be spent on items not approved, like contraceptives !  I don’t understand how limiting the number of babies born to Americans will stimulate the economy nor help the world.  It sounds as though Obama lives in his own, little World.

Then, he complains about how much money the wealthy have and how he means to steal that difference and give it to the poor.  That is class warfare.

Finally, even his aides admit that when questioned about a specific item in the stimulus plan, Obama said,  “I won”.  That is, I won and you will do as I say.  That is arrogance.

Add those up and you come up with a very clear and honest depiction of President Obama — World Class Arrogance.

Who’s for "go" and who’s for "show" ?

The difference between the political parties in dealing with scandals is strikingly clear when you compare the reactions of both parties to the despicable actions of the Florida legislator.

When a Democrat shows bad behaviour, the Democrats circle the wagons and use every means, fair and foul, to keep that person in office. President Clinton was the most recent and egregious betrayer of the public trust when he abused a White House intern and lied about it to the public. He was not the only Democrat to commit immoral and even criminal acts, but he certainly was the most public figure to do so. What happened? Most Democrats tried to defend him rather than impeach him.

Now, a Republican has been caught and what happened? The Republicans immediately forced the miscreant to resign. While the Democrats are whooping and hollering, happy to witch hunt with questions about who knew what, when, and how, the Republicans acted.

That is the difference between the two parties. The Democrats scheme to gain the most political mileage from every event. The Republicans act honorably and evict the offender.
