I’ll tell you what’s heating up…

The models are imperfect.

“There is a lot of room for improvement” in the models.

So you’re telling me that these models are imperfect? I love how these so called experts blatantly lambaste us with evidence of global warming and how the future is bleak, when they can’t even predict the near future correctly. This just shows you how a few nut jobs purveying their ideas in the media can get the mindless lemmings of lieberals believing anything.

Am I glad that people take interest at least in the future? Yes. Am I glad that people ride bike instead of drive, recycle, use CFL’s and other green technologies? Yes. But what I don’t like is when people argue their points when their so called evidence is based on opinion and guess-work models vs cold hard facts.

And, if you ever have to argue with these nutcases, it’s quite comical. They’ll say that you don’t care about the environment or that you don’t care about mother earth. Psssh, that’s total hogwash. I myself pay extra so that the electricity into my home comes from renewable energy*.

There needs to come a time when these lieberals and wacko tree huggers stop using fear, lies and models of the future that appear to be flawed. Why is the UK government using tax money to inform the population about global warming? I think it’s time that the voter decides for himself instead of being led on by our governments. To quote a the movie MIB, “A person is smart, people are stupid.”

*Technically the energy isn’t directly into my home. It’s just that WPS has to match to the grid the amount of energy I use.

What’s Al Gore’s telephone number?

Arctic Sea Ice Underestimated for Weeks Due to Faulty Sensor

The following article illustrates why Al Gore’s kneejerk reaction to “global warming”  contradicts the facts.  In this case, a faulty sensor misread the ice levels.  Either Mr. Gore can’t read and understand scientific data or, he is an idiot.  I believe that he is a complete buffoon who, through his political position, promoted the Lieberal hatred for anything remotely human , especially if that person is an American!  In their world view, every human activity creates problems for Mother Earth and Americans are the worst of the lot!

He beat the drums of global warming, disregarding respected scientists world wide who say that there is no way to discern if human activity is truly causing climate changes, despite his lack of any scientific credentials.

Oh, yes.  He rode that hobby horse right into fame and fortune.  What a surprise that a Democrat would use any possible issue in order to improve their own fortunes!

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) — A glitch in satellite sensors caused scientists to underestimate the extent of Arctic sea ice by 500,000 square kilometers (193,000 square miles), a California- size area, the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center said.

The error, due to a problem called “sensor drift,” began in early January and caused a slowly growing underestimation of sea ice extent until mid-February. That’s when “puzzled readers” alerted the NSIDC about data showing ice-covered areas as stretches of open ocean, the Boulder, Colorado-based group said on its Web site.

“Sensor drift, although infrequent, does occasionally occur and it is one of the things that we account for during quality- control measures prior to archiving the data,” the center said. “Although we believe that data prior to early January are reliable, we will conduct a full quality check.’’

The extent of Arctic sea ice is seen as a key measure of how rising temperatures are affecting the Earth. The cap retreated in 2007 to its lowest extent ever and last year posted its second- lowest annual minimum at the end of the yearly melt season. The recent error doesn’t change findings that Arctic ice is retreating, the NSIDC said.

The center said real-time data on sea ice is always less reliable than archived numbers because full checks haven’t yet been carried out. Historical data is checked across other sources, it said.

The NSIDC uses Department of Defense satellites to obtain its Arctic sea ice data rather than more accurate National Aeronautics and Space Administration equipment. That’s because the defense satellites have a longer period of historical data, enabling scientists to draw conclusions about long-term ice melt, the center said.

“There is a balance between being as accurate as possible at any given moment and being as consistent as possible through long time-periods,” NSIDC said. “Our main scientific focus is on the long-term changes in Arctic sea ice.”

Global… erm, global stuff. Yep, “stuff” should encompass all our positions on the topic.

Per previous posts, here, here and here.

It’s just ridiculous to assume we, as humans, can change Earth’s climate. The fact that the Earth has gone through it’s own heating and cooling periods without us is proof that we are just a small part of the entire eco-system.

Let’s wait a few years before Obama and the LIEberals start saying we caused global cooling, and claim the Republicans are ignorant for not seeing all the effects.

Globality

Not much to say, but I’d like to point out that this decrease could be the cause of global warming.  I mean, I don’t really need real hard data to prove it.  No, all I need to do is scare people into believing it’s the truth, and I can sit on my butt raking in millions of dollars on some cheesy movie I’ll make.

Stupidity…

This is obvious.  50 years ago there wasn’t as much sprawl as there is now.  So naturally, the odds of an area getting hit hard is increased.

New Orleans is the perfect example.  We were just so lucky that for so many years nothing hit them too directly.  The second it does, they cry and cry to everyone.  But, it gets better.  They REBUILD there.

No idea why…

So, they want to protect the wet-lands, but at what cost? We could prevent major flooding, crop damage and millions of dollars in housing damage, but they’d rather not think about that. I mean, heaven forbid, a froggy’s home is moved to save some crops or people’s homes.
